Some loves outlast the things they were supposed to outlast. The phase where you change cities. The phase where one of you was unbearable for a year. The phase where the world told you it would not work, and was wrong.
Two small figures, painted by hand on a soft gold ground, holding each other. A red heart between them. A few stars at the corners — small, because the moment doesn't need to be loud. The kind of love that does not need anyone's witness, and stays anyway.
The symbol. Renaissance artists kept returning to one image: two skeletons, embracing. They appeared in private love-letters, on small carved keepsakes traded between lovers, painted into the margins of devotional manuscripts. The meaning was steady — love that lasts beyond what bodies can do.
It was not a morbid image to them. It was a romantic one. The body fades, the bond does not. The face you loved becomes the hand you reach for in the dark, becomes the voice you can hear in your head years after, becomes the part of yourself that was changed by knowing them. None of that is buried with anything.
Craft & spec. The image is hand-painted enamel — painted by hand and fired in layers, each colour applied separately, set in the kiln at approximately 800 degrees Celsius, allowed to cool, then layered again. The frame is cubic zirconia accents and engraved gold detail. The pendant body is 950 Britannia silver, finished in 3.0 microns of 18K gold vermeil. The chain is 925 sterling silver, also vermeil, 18 inches. Each piece is made to order in our workshop, and ships approximately 4 to 6 weeks after your order is confirmed.
For the wife who has been the wife for thirty years. For the friend who has been more family than family. For the love you lost and still talk to, in your head, on the long walks.
Still together.
