Terms of service
1. WHO WE ARE
Vivid Novel is a brand of Peace Piece Jwl Inc. In these terms, "we," "us," and "the studio" mean Peace Piece Jwl Inc; "you" means the person placing an order or using this site.
By placing an order you agree to these terms, together with our Refund policy, Shipping policy, and Privacy policy.
2. WHAT WE MAKE
Every piece is a commission: painted by hand in vitreous enamel, fired in a kiln, and made for one person. Nothing on this site is stock inventory.
Because each piece is painted by hand at about an inch across, no two are identical, and a finished piece is an interpretation of your photograph rather than a reproduction of it. The Commission page and the FAQ describe in plain language what this style can and cannot do. We would rather you read that before you order than be surprised afterward.
Photographs on this site show past commissions. Yours will differ, because it is painted separately.
3. HOW A COMMISSION IS AGREED
A commission passes through two approvals.
Your design approval. Before any paint touches metal, we send you a design. Changes at this stage are free and unlimited. When you approve the design, the shape is locked: the carving and the mold are made from it, and materials are committed. We tell you this at the moment we ask for your approval.
Your final approval. We photograph the finished piece before packing it. Adjustments are free as long as they do not contradict the design you already approved. Enamel can be added to; it cannot be taken away.
Refunds follow the stages of these approvals — see our Refund policy.
4. TIMING
About six weeks from the day you approve your design, and from four weeks on our priority service. Four weeks is a floor set by the craft: enamel is fired many times and glass must cool between firings. Timelines are honest estimates, not guarantees, and we tell you as soon as we know if yours will run longer. For a fixed date — a wedding, an anniversary — tell us at the start and we will work backwards from it with you.
5. YOUR PHOTOGRAPH AND WHAT YOU SEND US
You keep every right you already had in the photographs and text you send us. By sending them, you give us permission to use them for one purpose: designing, painting, and delivering your commission.
We will not publish your photograph, your finished piece, or your name anywhere — including our gallery and social accounts — unless you have separately told us we may. The design brief asks you this directly, and "no" is a normal answer that changes nothing about your piece.
You confirm that you have the right to send us what you send us, and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights.
6. WHAT WE WILL NOT PAINT
We decline work that is unlawful, hateful, or infringes someone else's rights, and we decline photorealistic human faces because the technique does not serve them at this size. If we decline after you have ordered, we refund you in full.
7. PRICES, PAYMENT, AND TAXES
Prices are shown in US dollars and may change, but the price you paid is the price of your commission. Solid 18K gold commissions begin with a $150 design fee, credited in full toward the final price, which is quoted in writing before anything is cast or fired.
Import duties and taxes levied by your country are the recipient's responsibility — see our Shipping policy.
8. CARE AND DURABILITY
Fired enamel does not fade, peel, or wear thin. It is glass, so it can chip under a hard impact and can crack under sudden temperature change. Plating wears over time on every plated piece ever made. Our Craft page and FAQ set out exactly what each finish does over the years. Damage caused by impact, chemicals, ultrasonic cleaning, or wear outside ordinary use is not a fault in the piece.
9. IF SOMETHING GOES WRONG
If a piece arrives damaged, or differs from the finished photographs you approved, write to us within 7 days of delivery with photos and we will make it right at no cost to you.
To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, and nothing here affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
10. THIS SITE
The text, photographs, and designs on this site belong to us. You may not copy them for commercial use without permission. We try to keep the site accurate, but we do not warrant that it is error-free or always available.
11. CHANGES AND GOVERNING LAW
We may update these terms; the version in force is the one published here on the day you order. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
12. REACHING A PERSON
hello@peacepieceshop.com — a person reads every message, usually within two business days.
