A silver enamel pendant painted with two corgis, resting on a polaroid of them beside a worn leather collar

IN MEMORY

For the ones who aren't here anymore.

People write to ask whether it is alright to send us a photo of an animal who has died. It is. It is most of what we do.

Some of the ones we paint died before anybody thought to commission a portrait of them. We paint them exactly the same way, from whatever photo you have — however old it is, however imperfect, whatever it was taken on.

There is no separate product and no separate price. This page exists only so you know that.

A quiet still life — a finished piece resting on paper

On photos

Old, low-resolution, or slightly blurry is fine. If it's the photo you love, it's the right photo. If you have several, send them all and we'll tell you which one we can work from.

On likeness

Painted by hand under a microscope, in a style closer to watercolor than photography — and painted for the things that made them recognizable to you. You'll see the design, and change anything you want, before a brush touches metal.

On time

About six weeks from the day you approve your design. If it will be longer, we tell you as soon as we know — not at the end.

On the small things

The gray that came in late. The ear that always sat differently. Write them down and tell us — those are the details people notice when they open the box, and we can only paint them if we know.

Whenever you're ready. There is no deadline on this.
